Kept

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 October 2026

Kept does not collect, transmit or sell your personal data. There is no account to create and no analytics or advertising code in the app.

What the app stores

Your entries, accounts, categories, tags, budgets, scheduled rules, exchange rates and settings are stored on your device, inside the app's own storage. The developer has no access to them.

iCloud sync

Sync is turned off by default. If you turn it on, your data is synchronised through your own private iCloud database using Apple CloudKit, so it is available on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. The developer cannot read that database. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Network use

The app connects to the internet in one case only: when you ask it to refresh exchange rates, it requests the public rate table from the National Bank of Ukraine (bank.gov.ua). That request contains no personal data and no identifiers.

Card payments from Shortcuts

If you set up a Wallet automation in the Shortcuts app, iOS passes the amount, merchant and card name of each Apple Pay purchase to Kept on your device. Kept saves it as an entry and keeps a short log of the last calls so you can check the setup. Kept has no connection to your bank and receives nothing else.

Apple Watch

The watch app exchanges totals, categories and new entries with your iPhone directly through Apple's WatchConnectivity. Nothing passes through a server.

Receipt photos

Photos you attach to entries are taken with the camera or picked from your library only when you ask. They are stored with the entry on your device, in your backups and, if sync is on, in your private iCloud database.

Crash reports

iOS may hand the app anonymous crash and performance reports (MetricKit). They are kept on your device and leave it only if you choose to share them from the More screen, for example with a support email.

Face ID and Touch ID

If you enable the passcode lock, authentication is performed by iOS on your device. The app receives only a success or failure result and never sees your biometric data or device passcode.

Notifications

Daily reminders, if enabled, are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is sent to a server.

Backups, export and import

Backup files and CSV exports are created on demand and handed to the iOS share sheet — you choose where they go. Importing a file reads it locally. The developer receives nothing.

Children

Kept is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new date.
